Day by day goes by and I inch towards getting an official diagnosis after relating to video after video and looking at official medical website after official medical website and reading personal experience after personal experience. However one thing holds me back: the nagging voice in the back of my mind saying “what if it’s just my adhd tho-“ (that and the cost 😭)

I am a purple loving paragraph speaker who dislikes ambiguity. Which is to say I am a specific speaker when voicing my opinion. I aim to make myself crystal clear with no questions as to how I feel. I choose to speak last because I want to hear everybody's pros and cons before making my own personal decision on the matter. 😆

I have light preferences too but I am not big on bright natural lighting either. I have black out curtains in my room when I wake up. If I open up the blinds it’s usually in the middle of the day when the sun isn’t as bright. Early mornings and early evenings I am not big on all the blinds and curtains being open. Even before I looked into the possibility of being Autistic I dated a guy who noticed how dark my house always is. I typically use overhead lamps as needed but I prefer lamps. I have bright lights in my bathroom so I always use the bathroom with natural lighting and take showers with a night light. I have been taking dark showers for years and love it. I want to change the light bulb but the light fixture has distinct light bulbs that’s difficult to find.

What you said about taking things literally is very true. I work at a University in administration. When I first started working there my supervisor told us we can hang up the phone if a student/parent is being disrespectful. Guess who always hangs up the phone when I feel bullied on the phone? 🙋🏾‍♀️ Nobody else hangs up the phone except me and now they’re trying to do takesy backsies like they didn’t give permission to do this when people complain. They shouldn’t have told me that. Recently my boss also asked us to do a webinar on Mental Health since it is mental health month. She didn’t say it was mandatory, she made it like it was just recommended. Guess who haven’t signed up for the webinar yet every one else has? 🙋🏾‍♀️ It is what it is, please be direct and say what you mean with me 🤷🏾‍♀️

2,3,4,6,7,8,9,11,12. I haven't had the kind of paid job to which 13 would apply, but it does describe my amateur creative activities. I have spurts of great creativity alternating with periods when I just don't experience any inspiration.

It’s extra-nice of you to apologize for the nonspecific language. But I think in any video about autistic traits, most people watching already realize that no one autistic person could possibly identify with every single trait. And anyone who watches your videos knows that you don’t try to shoehorn people into a single box. Maybe the problem was that the short videos attracted a lot of viewers who don’t usually watch your channel. I’ve also heard that angry or mean comments are more common on short form content, for some reason.

I DO NOT like purple... but I love deep cobalt, "lake blue," royal blue. "Purple adjacent" But paragraphs, yes, marketing, yes, choice, yes, conversation, yes (my bf & his whole fam are interjectors & interrupters, and he is impatient with me being upset about interruptions). Standing there awkwardly is every minute of my whole life. Pain Scale: Ive been told, all my life, that i have "a high pain threshold," so I just answer randomly. Expectations: yes. Productivity: yes, but I do like predictability. Stemming: Shaking my legs, messing with my nails, etc. How I'm being perceived: yes. Also, my bf feels like I'm making this up. He also says that I'm "culturally appropriating" when I try to talk to him about spectrum

My first childhood memories from school are me waiting in a queue with other children to use a swing not really wanting to use it but doing it not to look different, fit in and do what everyone else does. When it was almost my time to swing i'd change a queue and wait in another line for different playground toy to use and so on. I think that was one of my first maskings.

The 1968 ACT for kids, and against TV advertisers, helped a generation learn from TV. But with the 1981 deregulation of this, I learned to despise advertisers as feigning love for my money. Yep, I hate to shop now. Low trust in advertisers. Also: loops in sleeves and taking things literally, double check. (All 15 are a ✔️) TY for this awesome video!

The one about standing awkwardly in a room was so helpful, when I attended a social event yesterday. This awareness helped me stand awkwardly, without feeling emotional painful about it, as if I was bad or wrong for sticking out that way. Gracious hosts were welcoming regardless. It was a lovely time. Today, I rest!

Even with color mine are Saphire Blue and Emerald green. But a deep red for electronics lol. I have ADHD and I will tell people flat out I have no favorite anything because what can seem like my favorite then wont be later. The color thing is the most consistent thing for me. So far I do the things you have said up until this point of the video you are talking about marketing scams. Still watching. I think there is a lot of crossover with autism and adhd though it seems we do these similar things for different reasons usually. For me I space a lot but I am hyperfocuseda lot too. I will forget to eat and drink. I impulse shop but dont I dont know how to explain. I weigh the products within the same category and pick the right one but it is a quick process of looking up videos and reviews and so on to decide what is the best one and whether it is worth it but will go through this over the course of an hour or less. Decide Im going to do it and hope it was the right choice. I'll learn all about it within a short period. I dont think its that we dont vet some things but just its a very quick process of the pros and cons. I have a friend who will take a week to make decisions so to them Im being impulsive not realizing I actually went through a similar process but in less than an hour. For my bf anything velvety or microfiber is a huge nogo. He is disgusted by that like I am with sticky food mess. I feel pain to physically force myself to touch it. If he forces himself with that material he looks just as miserable. I cant have things touch my neck in my sleep no necklaces etc. The taking things literally Ive adapted to some level but my tired default is taking things literal and jokes pass over my head lol.
